Description
Its plumage appears scaly because of the shiny dark brown and black edges on the feathers. The head is black with a white `cap` and a wide ring that goes from the throat to the back of the head. The wings are light with a black fringe of feathers. It is distributed in the mountain forests of Central and North-Eastern China at an altitude of 300 to 1800 m above sea level.
